Five of our Favourite January Flowers
January is an exciting month for Gina’s Garden - the sun is shining (well it should be!) and our flowers beds are bursting with colour. As we welcome Summer in the garden, we’re excited to share our top five favourite flowers that are blooming in our garden this January.
Sunflowers - No other flower screams summer fun like Sunflowers! Their bright yellow petals and statuesque stems make them the perfect addition to any bouquet. Plus, they’re sure to brighten up any room.
Sweet Peas - This is likely the last month to enjoy these fragrant beauties before the heat sets in and they start setting seed. We’re making the most of their brilliant scent and delicate pastel colours. Picking the vine and not just the flowers means you get to enjoy the super long stem and all the twirly bits.
Matricaria - These tiny white daisies, commonly known as chamomile, have stolen our hearts. With their delicate appearance and soothing properties, it’s no wonder they’ve become a popular choice for bridal bouquets. These look great in single bunches by themselves or mixed in with other summer flowers.
Snapdragons - These spikey beauties add a touch of drama to any floral arrangement. And, of course, the kids love to play with them!
Dahlias - Last but definitely not least, our dahlias are finally starting to flower! With their rainbow of colours (just not blue!) and fascinating forms they are one of the most interesting patches in the garden. Lucky we have five rows of them!
If you love any of these flowers, make sure you visit Gina’s Garden and pick some for yourself!
We can’t wait to see you in the garden.
